Thursday, October 21 | 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm | Johnson 221

Pillar: Inclusive

*NOTE: We plan for this workshop to be offered in-person in Johnson 221, pending any OSU COVID-19 policy changes. We will also broadcast the workshop remotely via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. More information about Zoom access will be provided closer to the event.*

The Socially Conscious Leadership workshop is designed to give participants the space and time to understand the meaning and importance of socially conscious leadership as a means to lead in a more equitable way. Through a process of critical self-reflection and story-sharing, participants will recognize the ways that privilege and power influence their lives and the lives of others differently. Through this process, participants will be encouraged to realize the value of building trust and connection in leadership, and thus work together to identify attributes and practices of socially conscious leadership. Ultimately, students will recognize the importance of leading in ways that make people feel a sense or trust, belonging, and empowerment in order to create a more equitable world, and will be asked to answer the question: “What does all of this mean for you in your leadership?”
