Leadership Academy Pillar: ETHICAL or PROFESSIONAL (member choice)

OSU Day is one of the most visible advocacy days in Salem and reminds legislators of OSU’s role as one of only two land-, sea-, sun- and space-grant universities in the country. Each year, Oregon State University students, alumni, and supporters descend on the Capitol in Salem to share their OSU experiences and meet their legislators.

Morning: The OSU Meistersingers performed the invocation on the House floor, the OSU Color Guard posted the colors in both chambers, and selected visitors joined OSU's alumni in the Senate on the Senate floor.

8:00am-5:00pm: Attendees had the opportunity to enter the Galleria where a few of OSU's programs were on hand to share OSU's impact around the state. Participants could learn about OSU's apiculture efforts through our observation hive and play giant Jenga with OSU's College of Forestry!

11:30am-4:00pm: Pharm.D. students from OSU's College of Pharmacy hosted a health fair at their booth in the Capitol Galleria. Operation Heart and Operation Diabetes were present for blood pressure screenings and blood glucose testing.

All Day: Individual meetings with legislators, booths in the Galleria, pictures with Benny, and more were offered throughout the day!

Afternoon: A reception in the Capitol Galleria, included an award for the smartest legislator in the Assembly. Each year, legislators are challenged to move to the head of the class by demonstrating how much they know about OSU.
