Leadership Academy Pillar: PROFESSIONAL

An essential part of innovation is protecting your ideas. In this session, students will be introduced to Intellectual Property--trademarks, copyrights, and patents, with a focus on the patent process and what engineers need to know to protect their ideas.  This content is highly pertinent to success in engineering and business.

Carsten Grellmann is a 2009 OSU graduate with an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2012, and is a registered patent attorney at Klarquist Sparkman, LLP, where his practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for medical devices, mechanical, electrical, and software-related technologies.  This is a session that all engineers with innovative ideas and an interest in business essentials will not want to miss.
