Monday, October 11 | 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm | Johnson 221

Pillar: Professional

With the OSU Career Fair coming up in October, many engineering students will be looking for internships and full-time positions for the following year. Some companies even recruit and hire senior engineering students for full-time positions in the fall, even though they may not start working until the following year. With this in mind, this workshop will help students who may be receiving job offers navigate how to confidently negotiate their salary. Negotiating salary, if you have never done it before, can feel a little scary at first, but our workshop will provide some solid tips and advice for helping you go through the process with confidence and poise, and help you achieve the compensation that you feel you deserve. Throughout your career, you will very likely negotiate salaries and raises multiple times, so it's good to learn these skills now!

Erich White is the assistant director of career development, based in the College of Engineering. He supports COE students with their career development needs, from resume/cover letter review and finding internships to interviewing skills, salary negotiation, and much more!
