First Things First – A Principle-Centered Approach to Achieve Anything

Facilitated by: Dave Chin (BusinessCOACH of Oregon)

Leadership Academy Pillar: PURPOSEFUL

Do you have enough time to do everything you need to do?   Are you always working in crisis mode?  Is your life well balanced between your personal life, school, and work?  Do you feel in control of your life? Or is your life controlling you?

Traditional time management suggests that by doing things more efficiently you’ll eventually gain control of your life. Wrong. If working harder, smarter, and faster isn’t working for you, what will? First Things First, Stephen Covey’s innovative approach to time management demonstrates why so often our first things – what matters most to us, aren’t given high priority. Make your life work instead of making work your life! Because where you’re headed is more important than how fast you’re going.

Dave Chin helped students:

•Look at the gap between the way one spensd his or her time and what’s deeply important

•Discuss a new level of how one think about time

•Examine how one spend his or her time now

•Identify techniques one can use to focus on what’s really important
