What: The Next Great Startup COE/COB Prelim is a condensed 2 part competition where participants have the opportunity to work on their startup coached by Dale McCauley (InnovationX at OSU, Manager of the COE/COB Maker Space, and OSU Entrepreneurship Club Adviser).  

Monday (11/13, 5-7 pm): Workshop in Johnson Hall 221. Students will come with ideas and form group. Dale McCauley will be there to present and then advise teams as they work on their ideas.  Pizza will be provided for the teams to keep you energized for work on your ideas!

Tuesday (11/14) teams work on their own to prepare their business pitch.

Wednesday (11/15 6-7:30 pm): Pitch Competition in Austin Hall Stirek Auditorium. Teams will present a pitch of their startup to panel of expert judges  (entrepreneurs and business professionals).  There will be a reception with great appetizers following the pitches while the judges deliberate.  

Prize: The top team will gain automatic entry in the Next Great Startup Competition Winter Term and win prizes to advance their businesses.

Who: The competition is open to all engineering and business students that are in good academic standing with the university.  

You can form teams with other Leadership Academy members, engineering students not yet in the Academy, and students in business and other colleges at OSU.  You do not have to have a team before the workshop on Monday, 11/13 and can come as an individual with an idea wanting to build a team or interested in hearing about other teams and joining one.  

Casual Attire recommended for the workshop, and business casual attire recommended for the pitch competition.
